Digital Amnesia: A Dead Hard Drive Does Not Mean the End of the World

My computer crashed last week from a severely decrepit hard drive. All I had backed up at the time were a few pieces of writing that I had considered worth saving in case something happened. Ever since, I’ve had to use the computers in the Gregory computer lab—a small, smelly room with cinderblock walls. I’m writing this piece there now.

We Were Bored
One Penn Dude
It started because we were bored. No other reason. We tried growing facial hair first I think everyone does that but it didn’t do too much for us. “It’ll be a vacation from yourselves,” someone told us. But it wasn’t true.
